Indie BookSellers is a reader-first discovery catalog built to help people choose books by the experience they want—not only by a bestseller chart or a retailer category.
What this site does
Books rarely fit on one shelf. A fantasy novel can also be enemies to lovers, dark academia, found family, a BookTok favorite, and the second volume in a series. This site connects those signals so readers can begin with a trope, mood, genre, community, author, or reading order and move naturally between them.
Every catalog page points to a specific print edition identified by ISBN. Author pages gather the books currently held in the catalog, series pages put numbered titles in reading order, and editorial guides answer focused questions such as what to read after a favorite book or where to begin with a reading mood.
What “curated” means here
Curated does not mean that every visitor has voted on every title. It means the catalog is organized deliberately: duplicate editions and obvious metadata noise are removed, social-reading signals are reviewed, series positions are checked, and guide selections are constrained by the actual books and tags in the catalog.
Book metadata may be reconciled from publisher, Google Books, Open Library, retailer, and audiobook records. Original shelf introductions and reading guides add context for discovery, but they do not replace the publisher’s description or a reader’s own judgment.
Supporting independent bookstores
Indie BookSellers is a discovery website, not a bookstore and not the seller of the books shown. Print links lead to Bookshop.org, and audiobook links lead to Libro.fm. Both services are associated with independent bookstores.
Some outbound links are affiliate links. A qualifying purchase may earn this site a commission without changing the price paid by the reader. Affiliate relationships do not determine whether a title belongs on a shelf, appears in a guide, or receives a particular rank.
A catalog that keeps improving
Book data changes. New editions appear, series grow, covers move, audiobook records become available, and reading communities rediscover older titles. Automated checks help identify stale metadata and broken assets, while decisions about rankings, guide language, and ambiguous series information remain editorial.
