The Rise and Fall is a completed trilogy set between Legends of the First Empire and the Riyria books. Each novel focuses on a different legendary figure and period in the history of Elan.
The books have more self-contained stories than Sullivan's other series, but their historical connections build in publication order and culminate with Esrahaddon.
How to choose: Read Nolyn first, Farilane second, and Esrahaddon third. No earlier Elan book is required, though readers following Sullivan's preferred overall order will reach this trilogy after Legends of the First Empire.
