Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows series is a completed two-book heist fantasy following Kaz Brekker and a crew of six dangerous outcasts. Six of Crows begins the job; Crooked Kingdom continues directly from its ending and completes the duology.
The duology takes place after the Shadow and Bone trilogy in the wider Grishaverse, but it moves to a different country and introduces a new central cast. Readers can start here, although a few earlier-world developments may be revealed.
How to choose: Read Six of Crows first and Crooked Kingdom second. Continue with King of Scars only if you want the later Grishaverse storyline, which assumes familiarity with both this duology and Shadow and Bone.
