Nonfiction on social reading platforms is less narrow than it looks. A practical habit book can sit beside medical history, cultural criticism, and a deeply personal account because readers share all of them for the same reason: the book gave them language or information they wanted someone else to have.
Where to start: Start with memoir when you want one person's story to carry the subject. Practical nonfiction is easiest to read in short sections; narrative history and science usually reward reading straight through like a novel.
